This power plant is coming up at Wajari village in Gombe state, reports allafrica.com.

While handing over the licence to Trombay Power Generation Limited president Jitendes Kumar Sachdeva, NERC chairman Dr. Sam Amadi said that coal power plant "is becoming important in the effort to diversify our fuel source."

Amadi hoped that the firm would "follow through your timelines in constructing your power plant with the same dedication you displayed in the course of this application".

Sachdeva said: "I am glad to receive this licence and the commission is a truly transparent and smart regulatory agency."
