The proposed project in Setouchi City, Okayama Prefecture would be the largest solar power project in Japan that is expected to generate 231MW.
The project, managed by special purpose company Setouchi Future Creations, will utilize about 446,000 pieces of Trina Solar TSM-260PC05A modules.
The solar power plant is planned on 260 hectares (1,210 acres) of city land on the former Kinkai salt field. TYhis plant is likely to begin commercial operations in 2019.
