The incident left at least 282 dead with 150 still missing out of 787 miners who were underground at the mine.
Several unions have reportedly accused the privatization of the mining sector, saying that efforts to to cut costs are putting workers at risk.
The Confederation of Revolutionary Trade Unions of Turkey head Arzu Cerkezoglu has called on citizens to march on the Ministry of Labour.
The formerly state-run coal mine was privatized to Soma Komur Isletmeleri in 2005, and has since followed poor safety standards putting working conditions more dangerous, the unions said.
The Public Workers Unions Confederation said in a statement, "Those who pursue privatisation… policies, who threaten workers’ lives to reduce cost… are the culprits of the Soma massacre and they must be held accountable."
Energy Minister Taner Yildiz said that rescue efforts are being hindered by fires and there are less chances of more survivors.
