Under this program, which is designed to provide customized energy-saving products and services to eligible residential customers at no cost, Total Home Performance will conduct a complete home energy audit to determine cost effective energy upgrades to reduce the homeowner’s energy consumption.
The energy audit will include assessment of the amount of cooled and heated air that may be leaking from the home, checking attic, crawl space and wall insulation for adequate coverage, and testing the heating and central air conditioning systems.
In addition, Total Home will educate the homeowner on methods to reduce energy consumption, and provide Delmarva Power a complete assessment report, based on which Delmarva will authorize Total Home to make the appropriate energy efficient improvements.
The demonstration program has been designed to increase the customers’ comfort, enhance the durability, health and safety of homes, while at the same time, reducing the homes’ energy bills carbon footprint by minimizing energy consumption.
Total Home president Matt Hargrove said that this is such a great program by Delmarva Power, not only can income eligible homeowners and renters be given the opportunity to receive a complete home energy audit and related home improvements but these families can realize big savings in their utility bills.
