The plant will be constructed by engineering and construction company, Fluor for the Lower Colorado River Authority near Marble Falls.
Under the terms of the agreement, Toshiba will supply a 195MW steam turbine and generator for the natural-gas fired combined cycle power plant.
Toshiba will replace the aging Thomas C. Ferguson Power Plant with the more efficient and environmentally friendly power generation equipment.
The supply of equipment is scheduled for August 2013 and plant is expected to begin operation in July 2014.
