TIC will supply and install components for an 800MW steam turbine renewal and also for the winding of a generator stator coil.

The retrofitting project is expected to improve steam turbine output by about 14% and all the major equipments required for the project work will be provided by Toshiba.

TIC is planning to begin the installation and winding work on the project located in the city of Ottumwa in September 2014 and complete the order by the end of the year 2014.

Interstate Power and Light Company is the owner of the plant and Burns & McDonnell Engineering Company is the engineering, procurement and construction contractor.

TIC is the US subsidiary of Toshiba’s thermal power generation business.
