Toro’s flagship and wholly owned advanced uranium mine project is located 30kms from Wiluna and is projected to produce 1.8 million lbs of U3O8 a year over a 14-year mine life.
The project, comprising the Centipede and Lake Way deposits, awaits the only remaining environmental approval from the Australian Federal Government, which is expected before the end of 2012.
A feasibility study had earlier reported a viable processing plant design which alongside detailed engineering design, infrastructure and cost estimates will commence on receipt of the approval.
Meanwhile, Toro’s updated project economic model entails a total estimated cost of $269m, including $207m direct costs, $31m EPCM and $31m as contingency at $37 an lb of U3O8.
Toro plans to sell its first uranium from the project in early 2014.
