The blast at the reactor No 2 was followed by two previous hydrogen explosions at the reactors No 1 and 3 on 12 and 14 March, respectively.
The No 2 reactor’s steel containment structure was damaged by this blast and emergency workers were withdrawn from the plant to avoid excessive exposure to radioactive leaks.
This nuclear crisis has raised fears of a possible meltdown at the reactors of the power station.
