The well is expected to take around 70 days to reach total depth of 3,500m, and is expected to include potential zones such as Lower Cretaceous sandstone and Upper Jurassic carbonate sequences.
Tethy’s is planning to spud AKD09 or Dexa exploration well on 26 October, 2013, which is located to the north-west of producing Doris field.
The company intends to target lower cretaceous channel sandstone sequences in the well, and is expected to take around 45 to 50 days to drill to a planned total depth of 2,400m.
Tethy’s plans to start comprehensive testing program on the permo-carboniferous interval of KBD01 or Kalypso well in early December, which will involve perforation and potentially acidisation followed by fracture stimulation of the carbonate interval around 4,100m below the surface.
The company is planning to commence shallow gas exploration program in the central and south-eastern part of the Akkulka exploration contract in early November, and is also near to Akkulka production contract area.
