Under the agreement, the Tendril Connect cloud platform will be integrated with Elster’s EnergyAxis smart grid system.
As a result, the deal will provide a broadened advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) offering for efficient home energy management and Demand Response.
The parties have also signed a formal licensing agreement, under which they will jointly market Tendril energy management solutions, including Tendril Energize to the significant number of utilities using Elster’s EnergyAxis.
Elster Solutions president and CEO Mark Munday said with multi-technology support, the company’s EnergyAxis features a flexible architecture that is designed to evolve with a utility’s changing business, including the delivery of new consumer services for home energy management.
Elster’s EnergyAxis is an interoperable, standards-based smart grid solution with five million endpoints across the globe.
Tendril Connect is an open, standards-based, scalable and secure platform that provides utilities and other energy service providers with unprecedented insight, choice and control over grid operations and the customer experience through such programs as energy efficiency initiatives, direct load control and demand response.
