Tenders invited for Kinta dam

The Metropolitan Utilities Corporation in Kuala Lumpar has a concession agreement with the State Government of Perak Darul Ridzuan to construct and operate the Greater Ipoh Water Supply Scheme. The scheme includes:

•Construction of the 90m high Kinta RCC dam, with approximately 1M m3 of RCC.

•Associated works including 5km of 1800mm diameter pipeline.

•Construction of a water treatment works with a capacity of up to 225ML/d.

•Over 30km of trunk mains and service reservoirs.

Companies are expected to be invited to submit tenders for the construction of the Kinta dam and associated works by June 1999. The closing date for tenders will be September 1999 and invited tenderers will be required to inspect the site in mid-July.
