The smart grid applications will integrate with the existing Telvent GIS system owned by Dong Energy and provide a single platform to support all the business processes of Dong Energy from planning to final delivery.
DONG Energy will be able to monitor, control and improve its network and process and incorporate real-time data from the field forecast load demand, and better model distributed generation throughout the network.
Telvent chairman and CEO Ignacio Gonzalez said the company will provide comprehensive smart grid solutions that allow its distribution network to operate more efficiently.
"Our technology supports utilities throughout the world in making power generation and distribution more intelligent, efficient and sustainable," Gonzalez added.
The ADMS allows the utility to allocate energy across the grid more efficiently and better integrate renewable sources of energy into the network.
The ADMS, in case of power disruption, will support self-healing, incident-response capabilities by identifying the fault location and automatically provide dispatchers with decision support recommendations on to restore power.
Dong Energy will use these functions to reduce the number of outages, reduce incident response time when outages do occur and ultimately increase network reliability.
