The 35th Telehouse data center worldwide, West will meet the demands of the UK businesses for high-capacity data centers, while offering connectivity to over 400 ISPs, carriers, operators and internet exchanges, the company said.
Spread over nine floors, five with a ‘localized data center environment’, the 19,000sqm facility brings the total power at the company’s London Docklands site to 40MVA.
Four redundant HV power systems on separate grids ensure maximum redundancy levels of 99.99%, the company claimed. Furthermore, an additional 132K primary sub-station is also being built to provide redundancy protection.
The company added that West will also help the UK businesses achieve their green commitments to the forthcoming Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) legislation by deploying a variety of systems to mitigate the carbon footprint of the building, including exporting waste heat for use in nearby homes and businesses.

“We designed Telehouse West with the forthcoming CRC legislation in mind. The opening of the facility will not only help customers achieve their own green targets by reducing the amount of carbon allowances they will need to purchase, but also enable them to expand their businesses and launch new services as they see fit.”
