The plant will have a production capacity of 800,000 tons per year and will be one of the largest facilities producing diesel fuel from renewable feedstocks. The production process will be based on Neste Oil’s proprietary NExBTL technology, which can use a wide range of raw materials.

This technology was first applied in Neste Oil’s Porvoo refinery in Finland, which has been in operation since the summer of 2007.

Technip’s operating center in Rome, Italy, will execute the contract, which is scheduled to be completed in 2011. A contract for a similar plant in Singapore was previously undertaken by Technip.
