Under the terms of the contract,Technip will be responsible for the project management, engineering, fabrication, installation and pre-commissioning of over 200km of infield and export flowlines and risers.
Flowline is a flexible or rigid pipe, laid on the seabed, that enables delivery of oil/gas production or injection of fluids. Its length varies from a few hundred meters to several kilometers.
Riser is a pipe or assembly of pipes used to transfer produced fluids from the seabed to the surface facilities or to transfer injection fluids, control fluids or lift gas from the surface facilities and the seabed.
The overall project management will be performed through an operating center, owned by Technip, in Houston, Texas
For Delta House field, the infield flowlines and risers will be welded at the group’s spoolbase located at Mobile in Alabama.
The offshore installation would be performed in the second half of 2014 by Technip’s vessel fleet including the Deep Blue, which will lay the deepwater infield lines while the G1200 construction vessel will install the export flowlines.
Technip’s substantial subsea contract value ranges from €100m ($135.65) to €250m ($339.14).
