The FPSO will be located at a water depth of 250m.

Technip will provide detailed engineering and procurement assistance for the topsides facilities of the FPSO, which has 1.2 million barrels storage capacity.

The project will be executed by Technip’s operating centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Gas from the Ichthys field project in the Browse Basin, will undergo preliminary processing offshore to remove water and extract condensate and through an 889km subsea pipeline the gas will be exported to onshore processing facilities in Darwin.

Technip said the Ichthys LNG project will produce 8.4 million tons of LNG and 1.6 million tons of LPG annually, and will have a peak rate of 100,000 barrels of condensate a day.

Ichthys LNG project is a joint venture between INPEX and Total.
