Technip, along with China HuanQiu Contracting & Engineering (HQC) has secured a front-end engineering design (FEED) contract from Basra Gas (BGC) for Ar Ratawi Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) train1 project at North Rumaila in Basra province, Iraq.

The scope of the contract includes the basic engineering design package of the NGL process units, utilities and the submission of an engineering procurement and construction (EPC) package.

The NGL project which comprises standalone facilities will produce liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) with a feed gas capacity of 530 million standard cubic ft per day, according to Technip.

The project, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2014, will be operated from Technip’s operating center in Abu Dhabi.
Technip Middle East president Vaseem Khan said the award reflects company’s strengthened position in the Middle-East market, following several previous awards.
