Brunei Shell will use the pipes to increase the oil recovery from the Champion Field which is located 40km offshore Brunei, at a water depth of 45m.

Technip, under the contract, will supply 12 flexible flowlines totaling a length of 19kms.

The Champion WaterFlood Project which is divided into brown field and green field will be executed in several phases and aiming to increase the oil recovery from the field.

The flexible flowlines will be manufactured at Technip’s Asiaflex Products plant in Malaysia, and the contract will be executed by the company’s operating centre in Kuala Lumpur.

The delivery of the flowlines is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2013.
