Tata Power has registered its 50.4MW wind project at Samana, Gujarat, under the United Nations Clean Development Mechanism (CDM).

The wind facility employs 63 wind turbine generators with 800kW of capacity each.

The facility will generate about 104,970MWh of clean energy per annum reducing 96,821 tons of CO2; resulting in 76,000 certified emission reductions.

Tata Power claimed that the Samana wind plant is their third CDM registered project, with the 50.4MW wind project at Khandke, Maharashtra and 25MW solar farm at Mithapur, Gujarat registered in June 2010 and January 2013 respectively.

The company plans, meanwhile, has also outlined plans to add 150-200MW of wind and 50MW of solar power capacity each year.
