The 21MW wind project is part of an agreement, which the company has inked for installing 30MW in Rajasthan.

Tata Power’s total power generation capacity has reached 8,521MW, with the commencement of the project.

Commenting on the development, Tata Power managing director Anil Sardana said that the company aims to get around 20-25% of the company’s generation capacity clean energy sources.

The company is aiming to add 150-200MW to its renewable energy portfolio and has entered into the Rajasthan wind power industry with the commissioning of the new project, added Sardana.

Tata Power has 397MW of operating capacity in wind power, which is spread across five states, including Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Karnataka.

Cennergi, the company’s JV in South Africa with Exxaro, has been shortlisted as preferred bidder for 139MW Amakhala and 95MW Tsitsikamma projects.
