Scheduled to finish on 15 May 2014, the fourth round will be launched at the 2nd Tanzania Oil and Gas Conference and Exhibition, which is planned to be held from 23 to 25 October 2013.
The fourth round will include seven deep-sea sedimentary blocks, each with an average size of 3,000km², and one offshore block in Lake Tanganyika.
The two most southern blocks (Blk-4/1B & Blk-4/1C), near the border with Mozambique, have been removed from the round.
The licensing round was due to take place in September 2012, but was delayed one year to allow the government to present the natural gas policy.
