The increased estimates were on the back of increase in grade to 4.8g/t gold, up from 4.5g/t gold estimated in September 2012.

Tanami also reported a 60% increase in measured and indicated mineral resource estimations to 460,000 ounces of gold from the 287,000 ounces declared earlier.

Commenting on the revised estimated Tanami’s acting chief executive officer Peter Cordin said that the company is confident of further resource growth as geologists continue their work at the open Groundrush deposit.

"The results of a number of holes drilled outside this Mineral Resource boundary, prior to the suspension of drilling with the oncoming wet season are awaited and are expected to return favourable results," added Cordin.

The Central Tanami project is about 90km east of the company’s currently operating Coyote gold mine.
