The company is seeking rock mechanical test specialists and geologists to outline a detailed rock mechanical test plan, testing and analysis, and reporting to the developer. The proposed operation is expected to take over 12 months with an estimated budget of $1.9m.

The Tanahu project includes construction of a 140MW hydropower plant, and transmission lines; rural electrification and community development; and a restructuring plan for the Nepal Electricity Authority.

Tanahu Hydropower has recently secured funds of up to $559.3m comprising a $72.3m loan from the European Investment Bank, a $157m facility from Japan, $30m from the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, and $150m each from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Japan International Cooperation Agency.

The geologic survey consultants are expected to send in their bids within the deadline of 11 September 2013.

Tanahu is currently conducting geological investigations aid potential suitors estimate the geological risks when preparing their bids.
