The wild cat well 16/10-5 was drilled 17km southeast of the Varg field in the central North Sea to a vertical depth of 2,990m below the sea surface to find petroleum in Upper Jurassic reservoir rocks – the Ula formation.
16/10-5 encountered 94m reservoir in the Ula formation with good reservoir quality.
Talisman has carried out the data acquisition and sampling of the well and has terminated the well in the Bryne formation in the Middle Jurassic.
16/10-5 well was drilled by the Maersk Giant drilling facility.
