UPA has built a national service company to facilitate utilities’ conversion from legacy meter technology to electronic technology. The company provides water, gas and electric installations to enable automated meter reading (AMR) through the automated meter infrastructure (AMI).
Troy Gregory, president and CEO of System One, said: “As the US emerges from recession, utility companies will increasingly turn to outside resources to support the public’s growing demand for clean, sustainable energy.
“System One and UPA’s combined strength creates a proven platform for expansion, just as the national smart grid infrastructure is being realized.”
UPA will offer its utility firm clients a turnkey solution supported by its own proprietary technology and System One’s national recruiting framework.
Mike Cale, executive vice president of UPA, said: “The time is right to align our services for the benefit of our clients. Now more than ever, UPA offers a strong value proposition for the accelerated development of the smart grid.”
UPA is a utility services contractor with a focus on meter installation services, in-home device installation and home warranty programs to water, gas and electric utilities throughout the US and Canada.
