The Synterra team is comprised of technical and business veterans from the energy, fuel, transportation, catalyst, and environmental industries with experience in research, development and commercialization of related products.
Synterra will operate a fully integrated pilot biorefinery at the University of Toledo and manufacturing operations will be focused in California and Ohio. Several commercial plants are in the planning stages, including one in Gridley, California.
Robert Schuetzle, who will serve as president of Synterra Fuels, said: “Synterra’s plants will help our nation meet its long-term goal of producing clean, renewable fuels from the nearly 1.2 billion tons of waste biomass that is generated in the US annually.”
