The contract placed by Freeport-McMoRan includes an initial two rig, 12 month, grade control drilling. Freeport will also be able to test the wider application of its mobile diamond drilling technology at the site through this contract.

Swick Mining Services managing director Kent Swick stated that the company is looking to add further value to a world class project with its highly mobile and reliable underground diamond drilling services.

"Swick understands that there is a significant long term potential for the company, well beyond the initial term, as well as a potential to significantly increase the rig numbers over time as demand grows," added Swick.

Mobilization is expected to commence early in the first quarter of the 2014, while drilling is scheduled in the latter part of that quarter.
