Under the contract, Suzlon will deliver 11 units of its S88-2.1MW wind turbine, to be commissioned in the states of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka by the end of the financial year 2011-12.
The new order is GAIL’s fourth order with Suzlon, with first two projects located in the state of Gujarat.
Under the first order, Suzlon delivered S82-1.5MW turbines for the first 4.5MW project, which was commissioned in March 2010, and the second 14.7MW project is currently under execution.
The electricity generated will be sold to the local power distribution utilities, under the long term purchase power agreement at the fixed preferential feed-in tariff.
