Jitendra Singh, the power minister, stated that the total investment for the commissioning of the unit was approximately INR11.17 billion. He said that the chief minister Ashok Gehlot’s initiative for the thermal power projects at Suratgarh and Chabbra emphasised the need for commissioning ongoing projects on schedule.
Singh informed that the 195MW Kota thermal super power station has also commenced the commercial operations and currently the unit generates approximately 100MW of power. The plant, if attains full capacity, would add 42 lakh units of power.
Chabbra power unit, that is expected to add 55 lakh units of power to the state, is ready to commence its operations by the end of September, 2009.
