Photovoltaic modules producer Suntech Power Holdings and Open Energy have entered into an agreement to license Open Energy's building integrated solar roof membrane product.

Under the terms of this license, Suntech will undertake the worldwide manufacture, distribution, sales and marketing of Open Energy’s lightweight, easily-installable solar membrane product, said the company.

The agreement complements Suntech’s solar products with Open Energy’s new building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) applications to provide a set of product offerings to the residential and commercial market.

According to the company, the frameless flat roof membrane will be marketed by Suntech under the SolarEze brand that shows its ease of installation even over existing roofs with no structural reinforcement required.

Suntech is a engaged in the design and manufacture of solar energy services. The company claims to pioneer technology advances in solar power generation products with its R&D team in Wuxi, China. It has sales offices and installation partners in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia.
