The projects will be installed at the Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL), the General Services Administration (GSA), the Navy and the Air Force.
The company, with its partner Namaste Solar, will design and construct a 2MW solar power system at the DOE’s new Research Support Facility on the NREL campus in Golden, Colorado, and will construct a 1.8MW solar project that uses its T5 Solar Roof Tile system at the GSA.
SunPower will design, build, operate solar systems at the Navy and Marine Corps, and the projects may range in size from 1MW to 15MW.
The company will also design and construct a 15MW solar photovoltaic power system at Luke Air Force Base in Glendale, Arizona.
