The project construction is expected to commence in 2015 and when completed, will provide clean energy to power 36,000 households per annum.
Commenting on the agreement, SunPower regional president Howard Wenger commented that the company will maximize solar energy for the utility’s customers by deploying high-efficiency technology.
"We are very pleased to be working again with PG&E to deliver cost-competitive solar power at a 100 megawatt scale, while creating jobs and economic opportunity for the local community," said Wenger.
SunPower will install its 435w solar panels at the site and expects the construction to be complete by 2016.
