SunPower will operate and maintain the solar power plant owned by independent power developer K Road Power. maintenance services at the plant.
Modesto Irrigation District (MID) will purchase the power generated from the McHenry solar plant under a 25-year agreement. The plant, which will supply power enough for 6,000 households, will enable the utility achieve California’s 33% renewable portfolio standard.
SunPower president Howard Wenger said, "The McHenry Solar Plant created jobs and economic opportunity in Stanislaus County during its seven months of construction, and is now delivering 25 megawatts of solar power to MID’s customers, helping to meet the region’s growing energy demand."
The plant has been installed with SunPower Oasis Power Plant technology equipped with SunPower Maxeon solar cell.
