SunPower has completed a 3.5MW solar power system at the Macy's online fulfillment center located in Goodyear in the US state of Arizona.

SunPower oversaw the design and installation of the system and is providing on-going operations and maintenance services.

The system features the SunPowerT5 Solar Roof Tile, a non-penetrating rooftop product that combines a high-efficiency solar panel, frame and mounting system into a single pre-engineered unit.

Tilted at a five-degree angle, the T5 Roof Tile system approximately doubles the energy generated per square meter compared to other systems that are mounted flat onto commercial rooftops, SunPower said.

As per the the US Environmental Protection Agency, the Goodyear system is expected to offset more than 3,500 tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year.

SunPower designs, manufactures and delivers the efficient, reliable solar panels and systems.

Arizona Public Service (APS), Macy’s local energy provider at Goodyear, helped make the system more affordable by providing financial rebates through the APS Renewable Energy Incentive Program.
