Set atop a former landfill, the 555kW project utilizes Suniva solar modules and was constructed via a 20-year power purchase agreement from FLS Energy to supply clean energy to the region’s Progress Energy customers.

Suniva said that it manufactures monocrystalline silicon solar cells and solar modules with low-cost techniques in order to make solar-generated electricity cost-competitive with fossil fuels.
