Sungevity has entered into a partnership with Engie Electrabel, a subsidiary of the Engie Group, to provide a full suite of solar services to electricity customers in the Belgian market.

As part of the agreement, Engie Electrabel will market a co-branded Sungevity-ENGIE Electrabel solar offering to existing and potential customers and Sungevity will provide all aspects of sales, design, installation and maintenance of the Sungevity Energy Systems to those customers.

The partnership marks the first deal for both parties to address the solar market in Belgium, in which Engie Electrabel currently holds a base of 2.8 million customers. In addition to Belgium, Sungevity, Inc. currently services customers in 14 U.S. states and the District of Columbia as well as customers in three European countries, including the Netherlands, Germany and the United Kingdom through its wholly-owned European subsidiaries.

Sungevity chief global officer Jan Slaghekke said"We are excited about growing our European footprint with Engie Electrabel, Belgium's largest utility.

"Their selection of Sungevity as a partner to address the burgeoning Belgian solar market further validates the strength of our technology platform and our focused approach to providing exceptional service to customers."

Engie Benelux CEO Philippe Van Troeye said: "The Engie Group is undertaking a major transformation and has the ambition to become the market leader in energy transition. The strategy of Engie Electrabel as an energy leader in Belgium is fully in line with this as we look to actively implement it for our 2.8 million customers.

"Our partnership with Sungevity enables us to provide current and future customers with a turnkey solar solution. Our search for the right partner was extensive and we found Sungevity's technology platform, customer service approach and brand to be the right fit for Engie Electrabel."
