Investment firm Sun Capital Partners has acquired gas station and convenience store operator Worsley Operating Company, in addition to its subsidiary's acquisition of Lil' Cricket Food Stores's assets, according to a report by PetrolWorld.

The news source reported that Worlsey operated 124 convenience stores and gas stations in the US states of North Carolina and South Carolina under the Scotchman, Youngs’ and S&E brands. Lil’ Cricket operates 88 convenience stores and service stations in South Carolina.

Coinciding with its acquisition by Sun Capital, Worlsey appointed Jeffrey Turpin as its president and CFO, effective immediately. He previously served as Worsley’s COO, according to PetrolWorld.

David Blechman, principal partner at Sun Capital, as quoted by the news source, said: We are pleased to add Worsley and Li’l Cricket to our growing portfolio of convenience store affiliates. These acquisitions more than double the number of stores owned and operated by our affiliates and will extend our footprint into two states where we did not have prior representation.
