International industrial and services group, Suez, is to invest 800M reais (US$372M) in the construction of the 214MW Sao Salvador hydroelectric plant in Brazil's northern Tocantins state.

The news follows reports that Suez, through it subsidiary Tractebel Energia, sold the future electricity production from the plant at Brazil’s energy auction held on 10 October. The company sold 148MW of future output for 135.01 reais (US$62.75) per MWh.
