Energy Power Resources, a renewable energy development company, has placed an order for a 40 MWe straw-fired power station near Ely, Cambridgeshire. The plant will be built by Danish company FLS miljo on a turnkey basis, which will operate and maintain the plant for 13 years.
The station is due to enter service by September 2000. It will receive a favourable rate for its power under the UK’s Non-Fossil-Fuel Obligation to encourage renewable energy.
