Stevens Water Monitoring Systems, Inc. (Stevens Water) has appointed Steven McCoy to director of radio frequency (RF) engineering. Previously, McCoy has worked for Stevens Water to develop several products, including The Shark, a wireless RS-232/RS-485 serial cable replacement device using Bluetooth technology, and the Stevens GOES satellite transmitter.

Specializing in embedded RF system design, transceiver design, and the implementation of radio chipsets and systems, McCoy comes to Stevens Water with over 20 years of experience in the RF/microwave and wireless industry. Previous industry experience includes engineering management and RF design at Cipher Systems, Advantest Incorporated, and Cadence Design Systems. Additional experience includes microwave motion sensor design at GE Security, where he received a patent for the industry’s first Range-Gated-RADAR motion detector for home and commercial security systems.

Scott South, president of Stevens Water, stated that “Steven McCoy adds to our growing number of engineers and will be instrumental in expanding Stevens’ depth and breadth of expertise in data acquisition and control utilizing the latest wireless technology platforms for our existing customers and expanding industrial and military applications.”

Graduating with honors from Cogswell Polytechnical College, McCoy received a Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering Technology (BSEET) with a focus in wireless electronics, embedded systems, and digital audio.
