The agreement has a duration of three years and has an option to be extended for one more year.
The first call off worth NOK320m ($ 60.31m) has been made for a period of 168 days and includes all services.
Statoil senior vice president of drilling and well Oystein Haland said light well intervention vessels are an important tool in Statoil’s toolbox to increase recovery from the fields on which they operate and Statoil already has two similar vessels in their NCS portfolio operating year-around.
"Compared with conventional drilling units these LWI vessels reduce the cost of well interventions by 50 to 70 percent," added Haland.
