The two contracts are for 15 years, under which the two firms will provide services to Statoil’s 20 oil and gas platforms on the NCS.

In particular, Beerenberg will provide maintenance services on 11 offshore installations of the company.

The latest contract is an extension of the Beerenberg’s existing contracts on Statfjord A, B and C, Gullfaks A, B and C, Kvitebjørn, Valemon, Grane, Visund and Draupner fields.

Other installations to be served include Aasta, Hanstee, Heidrun, Njord A, B and Norne.

Beerenberg communications vice-president Ole Klemsdal said in a statement: "Beerenberg employees are looking forward to continue the trusting and constructive partnership they have established with Statoil over a number of years, both on its offshore installations and at Mongstad."

The services are expected to be carried out at all installations on the NCS, as well as all onshore plants in Norway.

Statoil procurements senior vice-president Jon Arnt Jacobsen said: "The suppliers understand the industry challenges and want to help solve them.

"Beerenberg and Prezioso Linjebygg have during the renegotiations expressed that they focus on permanent improvements as well as quality and cost."

Statoil also awarded contracts earlier to Bilfinger Industrier and Kaefer Energy. The company plans to extend these contracts by exercising options at a later date.

Statoil operations technology of Development and Production Norway senior vice-president Kjetil Hove said: "These contract awards mark an important milestone in the long-term improvement effort within insulation, scaffolding and surface treatment services."
