Star Energy Partners has successfully completed electronic data interchange (EDI) certification with the American Electric Power (AEP) Ohio, in an effort to bring competitive energy prices to the latter’s service territory.

EDI manages the communications between competitive energy suppliers and utility companies.

The certification will enable Star Energy to now offer competitive rates and innovative services to residential and commercial electricity consumers in the AEP Ohio service territories of Columbus Southern and Ohio Power.

Star Energy is planning to further expand its service solutions in Ohio by launching the Energy Cost Awareness Program (eCAP) to new and existing customers this summer.

Star Energy Partners CEO Tony Banks said the company is focused on establishing a long-term relationship with its customers to help them achieve savings not possible with other suppliers.

"For this reason, this summer we will offer Star Energy Partners’ customers a free eCAP™ membership with exclusive benefits," Banks added.

eCAP aims to analyze energy consumption patterns and recommend ways to reduce overall usage, ultimately minimizing customers’ electric bills.
