EDGAR HORNY (right), CHAIRMAN of the Board of Management of voith-siemens Hydro Power Generation, São Paulo, Brazil, resigned on 30 September 2002. He will continue as member of the board of Voith Siemens Hydro Power Generation, Voith Paper Máquinas e Equipamentos and Voith Turbo in Brazil.
Horny joined Voith on 1 July 1986 as head of the Legal Department after various positions in the Financial Administration of the Ministry of State of Baden-Württemberg. In 1989, he was appointed chairman of Dewb AG, an investment and real estate company in Frankfurt, Germany. He became member of the Board of Management of Voith Riva Hydro in Milan in 1992. His career then brought him to Brazil in 1995 as the Chairman of the Board of Management of Voith in São Paulo.
From April 2000 on, he had been the chairman of the Board of Management of Voith Siemens Hydro Power Generation, where he was especially dedicated to the integration of the turbine and generator businesses from the hydro merger of Voith and Siemens Julio Fenner will be succeeding Edgar Horny from 1 October 2002. He and Sergio Parada are constituting the Board of Management of Voith Siemens Hydro Power Generation.
