As per the EPC contract, SPI will design, build a fixed-ground-mount, distributed generation solar energy facility (SEF), which will be owned by a subsidiary of KDC Solar.
SPI will also deliver electricity for onsite consumption by a subsidiary of an international pharmaceutical firm’s operations at their corporate headquarters in New Jersey, US.
The project is part of the three-year agreement signed between SPI, KDC Solar and LDK Solar in June 2011.
SPI will develop the SEF on land owned by KDC Solar that is contiguous to the pharmaceutical company’s New Jersey headquarters.
The pharmaceutical firm will purchase the electricity generated by the SEF from KDC Solar, under a long-term power purchase agreement.
SPI has also agreed to provide long-term operations and maintenance services for the facility, which will be powered by LDK Solar’s modules.
