The company signed an engineering, procurement and construction contract with North Palm Springs Investments, to deliver the project located on a 36.5 acre site.
LDK will provide with 33,880 solar modules on a single-axis tracker system located on two separate sites.
SPI Solar also signed a 20 year power purchase agreement with Southern California Edison, pursuant to which SCE will be the exclusive buyer of the electricity produced by the SPI system.
The system is expected to generate around 8,000 kW hours of electricity in its first year and will offsett six metric tons of CO2 from the environment.
