
The project features 35 solar farms, which can generate enough electricity for about 287,500 homes in Thailand.
The Provincial Electricity Authority of Thailand (PEA) will buy the electricity generated by the project, which has an annual power output of about 345,000,000kWh.
Thailand adopted a feed-in tariff system for renewable energy sources in 2007 to diversify its energy portfolio.
SPCG started the solar farm project in 2009 to meet the strong demand for renewable energy in Thailand
Kyocera delivered solar modules, totaling around 1,100,000 panels for all sites and the final plant was completed and connected to the utility grid in June 2014.
Kyocera senior executive officer and general manager of the corporate solar energy group Nobuo Kitamura said the project is a crucial milestone in solar energy development in Thailand.
"Drawing from our four decades of experience in the solar industry, Kyocera has delivered high-quality solar modules which will generate clean, renewable energy for many years to come," Kitamura said.
SPCG and Kyocera expect that the project will reinforce the power supply in the region and the companies will promote solar energy as a means to attain a low-carbon society.
