Southern California Edison has elected Ross Ridenoure as its new vice president. Mr Ridenoure will oversee operations and regulatory affairs at the company's San Onofre nuclear generating station, which generates power for southern California.

Mr Ridenoure joins Southern California Edison (SCE) from the Omaha Public Power District where he was the vice president and chief nuclear officer with overall responsibility for the Fort Calhoun nuclear station.

Prior to joining the Omaha Public Power District, Mr Ridenoure served on nuclear-powered submarines for eight years in the US Navy’s nuclear power program.
