The drilling results will support the company’s resource upgrade program and also to support the plan to feed high-grade material into the plant in the early stages to improve the economy of the project.
Southern Hemisphere managing director Trevor Tennant said the worth of the Llahuin project is fast growing following the increase in the size of the high-grade zone.
"The ability to feed high-grade material to a plant in the early stages of production will boost the economics of the project significantly, both by increasing production and reducing costs," Tennant added.
The drilling results included 326m at 0.56% copper equivalent from 70m, including 128mat 0.8% copper equivalent; 254m at 0.52% copper equivalent from 168m, including 192m at 0.57% copper equivalent from 202m.
The results also included 366m at 0.63% copper equivalent from 102m, including 324m at 0.66% copper equivalent from 128m and 440m at 0.75% copper equivalent from 2m, including 208m at 1.2% copper equivalent from 108m.
The samples collected are sent for further analysis.
