South Korea is planning to install a power plant project of up to 300MW of solar energy in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan Province of Pakistan.

A memorandum of understanding in this regard is expected be signed with the Balochistan government, according to Pakistan Today.

The government has already offered a piece of land of nearly 1500 acres near the airport to a Korean company.

A delegation led by Dr. Choi Moon-sok, the CEO of Concentrix (CX) Solar, has discussed solar energy options during a meeting with Chairman Board of Investment Saleem H Mandviwalla on 07 August for investment in solar energy projects in Pakistan.

The Korean firm, CX has shown its interest in putting up a project of solar energy in Quetta. Initially, a 50MW unit will be installed, and later six complexes/sub units will be gradually set up to complete 300MW.
